Tennessee Baton Twirling Pageants

Friday and Saturday, May 14 and 15, 2004
REQUIREMENTS: Twirler must be between the ages of 5 and 20 years of age as of Friday, May 15, 2004. . Must be enrolled in a weekly TTI class and in good standing by attending regularly each month as a student and paying all charges owed on classes, Twirl Days, team practices or any workshops. Twirler may enter the TTI Princess portion of the pageant (must be new beginner or first year student only) or TTI Queen competition ( any student of TTI). Princess competition consists of modeling, parade routine, and “New Beginner” dance-twirl routine. TTI Queen must enter five events. Tiny Tot, Little Miss Twirl and Majorette Doll must do modeling, interview, twirl, parade and strut routines. Junior Miss and Miss Tennessee of Baton Twirling must do interview, modeling, twirl , strut and talent presentation. This entry blank must be typed ( or printed) and received by TTI no later than Wednesday, April 28, 2004. Entries received after the deadline will be refused and returned to the twirler. Pageant Host Hotel: Days Inn Joelton just next exit north of Exit #40 on I-24.
AWARDS FOR PARTICIPANTS: All participants in the 2004 TTI Pageant will receive a participation trophy. The TOP FIVE IN EACH DIVISION TTI Tiny Princess 5-7, TTI Junior Princess 8-9 and TTI Princess 10 and up; Tiny Miss Tennessee Twirler 5-7, Little Miss Twirl of Tennessee 8-9, Tennessee’s Majorette Doll 10-11, Junior Miss Tennessee of Baton Twirling 12-13 and Miss Tennessee of Baton Twirling 14 and up will receive beautiful trophies. The three TTI Princesses will receive tiaras, banners, flowers and trophy plus one semester of FREE classes with TTI in the fall of 2004. The five TTI Queens will receive crown, flowers and trophies plus two FREE SEMESTERS of weekly classes in the fall of 2004 and the winter semester of 2005. TTI Princesses will be announced at Twirl Days, Fair Shows and any other shows where TTI Queens are presented. TTI Queens are expected to make numerous appearances across the state of Tennessee, ride the TTI float and will receive college scholarships and opportunities. The new TTI Queens will serve as non-competing hostesses at the TTI State Championships/End of Year Awards in Memphis, June 26, 2004..

7:00 P.M. Modeling TTI Tiny Princess, Junior Princess and Princess
8:00 P.M. Modeling Tiny Miss, Little Miss, Majorette Doll, Jr. Miss and Miss contestants
Saturday, May 15 Whites Creek High School Gymnasium
9:30 A.M. Orientation of all contestants
10:00 A.M. Interview TTI Queen contestants
11:00 A.M. Parade and “Beginner Dance Twirl” contestants only
Lunch will be served by TTI Booster Club. No outside food allowed in building.
12:00 Noon Parade, Twirl and Strut Routines for TTI Queen contestants
2:30 P.M. All Princess contestants and queen contestants, TTI Queens and escorts will rehearse
in the auditorium. This practice is closed to the parents and friends. Practice is casual so twirlers
may have curlers in their hair. Students will be released at 3:30 p.m.
6:30 P.M. Report to auditorium for evening show in pageant T-shirt given to twirler, white long
pants, white tennis shoes, white socks ( no colored belt with pants only white belt if needed). Bring
dress worn on Friday night in modeling for second portion of show. Girls will change during intermission into dresses.
9:30 P.M. Reception for all contestants and families in the School Foyer.
EACH CONTESTANT will be given a pageant number to be worn at all times during this event. Each twirler is also given a T-shirt to be worn with the long white pants for interview and during the opening production number. White long pants ( not stretch or thin fabric) will be worn with that shirt tucked into pants. Please specify correct size of shirt ( not baggy or big sizes) to be worn with pants on reverse entry blank. TALENT FOR JR. AND MISS TENNESSEE 2:55 in length ( 1:30 minimum). Talent may be anything deemed entertaining except baton twirling or twirling of any object ( no ribbon batons). Rules for correct dress style and length will be given at workshop March 20th. Please consult these rules....no sparkle fabric, no sequins, no rhinestones or glitter on fabric. Church dresses are to be worn. Short dresses for ages 5 through 11, long dresses for ages 12 and up. Anyone wearing “pageant style” dresses will be penalized 5 points. Hair should be down for younger twirlers and not worn up in French buns or twists. Older twirlers 12 and up may wear older hair styles. PHOTOGRAPHS will be taken by TTI photographer. This includes limo rides, inside gym and auditorium at school. Video or regular camera will not be allowed into the building. Reminder....no smoking in the school!!!

Each contestant will receive a T-shirt to be worn either in interview and/or opening number with white long pants. Also, twirlers will receive a participation trophy during the Saturday night awards ceremony.
